"The purpose of psychotherapy is to set people free"  Rollo May

Therapeutic Approach

My therapeutic approach is rooted in extensive psychodynamic training. In essence, I believe that in order to explore your inner world, we must also explore how external forces have shaped your attitudes, beliefs, and feelings. I also believe in the importance of utilizing our  therapeutic relationship as a means to understand and explore other important relationships in your life. I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach as each of us is unique in our own experience. To this end, I tend to integrate principles of psychodynamic theory, humanistic theory, cognitive behavioral therapy, family systems therapy, attachment theory, feminist theory, narrative therapy, LGBTQ affirmative therapy, as well as mindfulness when working with clients. By integrating such approaches, I am able to assist you in not only understanding your dynamics, but also in instilling the change that you are seeking by using concrete skills.

Your relationship with your therapist is paramount. I aim to create a collaborative environment that fosters a sense of safety, trust, warmth, humor, and curiosity. I hope to join you in your journey of self-discovery!
